Register now for Cambridge Town and Gown 2017

Event overview (this section will be updated regulary as the date approaches):

Date: Sunday 22 October 2017

Event Village: Midsummer Common, Victoria Avenue, Cambridge, CB5. The Event Village is located at the south side of Midsummer Common and will be visible from the roundabout that connects with Maids Causeway.

Price: Unaffiliated runner: £22 | Affiliated runner: £20 (open to those 16 years and older) | On the day - £25.00


08.00 - Event Village opens

09.00 – Junior 3k warm-up 
09.15 – 3k Junior Race starts 
09.30 – 10k warm-up with Puregym on stage 
10.00 – 10k race starts 
11.00 – prize presentation for all races 
13.00 – Event Village closes

Allow at least 10 minutes to reach the start. On the day registration will close 30 minutes before the race starts.

Race Pack

Runners who sign up before 26 September 2017 will receive their race packs (running number and event information) in the post at the address provided upon registration. If you would like it sent to a different address please notify us as soon as possible.

Runners who sign up after this date will have to collect their race pack from the information marquee on the day of the event, which will be open in the Event Village from 08.00am. The event information sheet will be uploaded on this page by the end of September.

Chip Timing

If you provided you mobile number on entry, you will receive a SMS with your chip time shortly after you finish. All chip timed results will be available on www.chiptiming.co.uk/events/cambridge-town-gown-2016 after the event

Profits from the photo sales are donated to Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Food and Drink

We will announce caterers in the coming months. If you wish to be a caterer contact us at events@musculardystrophyuk.org 

Goody Bags

Once you complete the race you will receive a goody bag with a medal, finisher t-shirt (size subject to availability) and some free product samples. 


The route for the 2017 Cambridge Town and Gown 10k will be similar to previous years, with minor tweaks to the start and finish. 

Water will be available at 4.5km and after 7km and will be served in cups.

Travel advice

There is no parking at the Event Village so we recommend travelling by public transport where possible and using either local Park and Ride Services or local Car Parks. To book to use Park and Ride please visit - https://cambridgeshireparkandride.keyivr.com/

Trumpington Park &Ride: First bus 0900 then every 15 minutes
Newmarket Road Park&Ride:First bus 0853 then every 15 minutes
Madingley Road Park&Ride: First bus 0900 then every 15 minutes
Milton Park&Ride: First bus 0900 then every 15 minutes.
Babraham Park&Ride: First bus 0900 then every 15 minutes

From City Centre:

Trumpington Park &Ride: Last bus back 1804
Newmarket Road Park&Ride Last bus back 1812
Madingley Road Park&Ride: Last bus back 1828
Milton Park&Ride: Last bus back 1836
Babraham Park&Ride:  Last bus back 1805

The closest stops to the Event Village will be those in the City Centre - Emmanual Street, Drummer Street or Downing Street depending on which service you get on. The city centre is only a short walk from Midsummer Common.

There will be some disruption to local bus services and we recommend runners travelling via bus to check the Cambridgeshire County Council website to help plan their journey.
