We are delighted to announce that following the success of our 2017 Oxford Town and Gown event, the Town and Gown 10k series has now raised over £2 million for Muscular Dystrophy UK!
This incredible fundraising total was reached as a result of the huge success of our 2017 Oxford event. This year’s event was the biggest Oxford Town and Gown ever with over 4500 10k and junior runners helping to raise nearly £165,000 for Muscular Dystrophy UK. This total alone is enough to fund over two-and-a-half years of world-class research, accelerating the search for treatments and cures for devastating muscle-wasting conditions.
This amazing achievement would not be possible without the support of every single one of our amazing runners and all the generous people who sponsor them! We would like to take the time to thank everyone who has been involved throughout the series 36 year long history.
We would also like to thank all our volunteers who give up their free time to help make these events run smoothly. Without these people the Town and Gown events in our three host cities of Oxford, Cambridge and Leicester would not be able to run every year.
Muscular Dystrophy UK would not be able to continue vital work in the fight against muscle-wasting conditions without the money raised through events such as the Oxford Town and Gown. To celebrate we’ve included a selection of photos from the past few Oxford Town and Gowns below.
Once again thank you and congratulations to everyone who has helped us reach this incredible total!
